Based in Belfast, our practice’s clients include voluntary, private and public sectors, providing them with exciting award winning, environmentally responsible, design lead, projects that are delivered to the highest standards on time and within budget.

Our innovative designs are sympathetic to our client’s site including its context throughout Northern Ireland and further afield.

Our deep-rooted architectural, environmental and social convictions guide our designs and we work collaboratively with our clients in a manner appropriate to needs, ambitions and budget.

We are recognised for our implementation and control of complex contracts and the delivery of successful, well loved and attractive buildings.

Making civic, community and cultural spaces is an opportunity to transform communities and change lives. To maximise the benefits to everyone involved, we think creatively, not just about aesthetics but about practical concerns too, from feasibility studies to space planning, procurement and running costs. We actively involve the community to understand the complexity of their needs, and work collaboratively to deliver socially and economically sustainable solutions, whether it is making the most of an existing building or creating a new one.

Over the years we have worked on a significant number of important historic buildings. Many of these projects have required the adaptation or extension of buildings to ensure viability for future use and to produce building environments suitable for our time. Our approach is to sensitively integrate the best in contemporary architectural design with the skilful conservation of the historic building fabric. Our experience means we have a track record of creating a good rapport with planning authorities and conservation bodies. We always seek to establish a constructive dialogue, to understand alternative views and to ensure that all parties can contribute to design development.

Working with churches and their congregations is an important element of conservation architecture.

Education is always on the move. The constant is that we need spaces to nurture and inspire students and educational professionals alike. We’ve been leaders in this rewarding field for many year and know that a successful learning environment requires care and attention inside and out to enhance the student experience. Working together we can make spaces for people to grow. Our expertise covers new buildings and the refurbishment of legacy estates and have a particular strength in the creative adaptation of existing buildings.

There no place quite like home! Over the years we have learnt that good design has a key role to play in producing successful, contemporary homes that people want to live in. We consider every aspect of a development, from its location right down to the fixtures and fittings. We know how to work with contractors, suppliers, sub-contractors and consultants as part of a coordinated team. From large regeneration projects to complex urban infill, from private apartments to affordable houses, we make places that people love to call home.

We are always working on new projects with current and new clients. Here you can find some examples of work in progress.
